→ Pevensey Timeline, Narratives seminars
Narratives tutor Kevin Gordon, begins teaching on the Pevensey Timeline this week with two seminars that aim to support the development of ‘work in progress’ by students. You are invited to participate in a series of history narrative seminars, part of the Pevensey Timeline teaching programme.. The seminars are designed to build on the basic tutorials in research, editing and technical skills to create entries and stories for the timeline and to accompany the Timeline Talks given by our lead tutor, Dr. Geoffrey Mead. Priority will be given on these seminars to members of the association that have completed the introductory tuition modules. They are free of charge to residents living locally. The narrative seminars aim to support the development of ‘work in progress’ by students, by introducing the notion of ‘professional level techniques’ in the telling of local history stories.
The seminars are offered by Kevin Gordon, a published author of four local history books, chronicler of the Seaford Museum, the Sussex Express weekly history feature writer and accredited guide to the Houses of Parliament. Amongst his lecture clients are the World Health Organisation and NATO. Kevin asks that you bring your enthusiasm for local history topics related to Pevensey, together with a sketch of a story that you might want to write.
