Can your library improve your health and wellbeing?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL NEWSROOM:

We provide health and wellbeing information in all our libraries. We want to hear about your experiences of looking for and using information at your library so that we can provide the best service possible.

Who can take part?

Anyone can take part in this survey. You don’t have to be a library member.

Background information

Whether you are trying to stop smoking, want to know more about healthy eating or would like to find your nearest yoga or fitness class, all East Sussex libraries provide information that can help you. Our services include:

* books – you can reserve titles online using our E-library or see our recommended self-help books
* leaflets
* community information
* newspapers and magazines (available in print and online)
* health websites
* and staff to help you find what you want.

Many libraries also provide drop-in sessions with experts on various health and wellbeing issues, such as recent events with the Alzheimer’s Society and Migraine Trust at Eastbourne Library.

How to take part

There are a number of ways you can give your views:

* Complete the online survey
* Download a questionnaire, fill it in and post in the box provided in any East Sussex library.
* Complete this consultation at your local library – please ask library staff if you need help with surveys on our library computers.

You can complete more than one survey form. For example, complete one form when you first search for information and a second form after you’ve used the information found.

Do you use a screen reader?

We’re sorry that our standard online questionnaires are not accessible to people who use screen reading software to navigate the web. We’ve prepared a special compatible response form:

* Response form for people with a visual impairment

This consultation closes on Saturday 12 November 2011.

What happens next

All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence. We’ll use your comments to ensure our health and wellbeing services are the best we can provide.
