A young local mum has contacted us with an account of what happened to her a week ago, something that has left her shocked and shaken. The incident has been reported to the Police.—Bay Life, 17 November 2016

The young mum told us, “I have always loved living in Pevensey Bay but the road closure is bringing out the worst in people!”

Explaining what had happened, she began the account, “I left my house today, reversed out my drive and was half way out and there was a car so I stopped, they slowed and seemed to be letting me out.

“I stopped at the level crossing and the woman got out and came up to my window”

Expecting to hear if the woman was OK she wound down her window to check.

What happened next surprised and shocked her. She told Bay Life, “She put her phone in my face and seemed to take my picture!

“My two young children in the back were scared. I got out and asked why she took my picture.

“The man driving started shouting at me so I got back in my car. I had to pull over as I was shaking. My children were upset! What is wrong with people!?”

The incident has been reported to the Police.

The following day she added to us, “I am also worried about her picture and no idea if my kids are in it. Still feel distressed!”

Days later, still shocked, she explained to us that her daughter was still suffering over the incident, “my daughter has been unable to sleep in her own bed scared since”.

The young mum asked that we send a message out to the community over the incident, suggesting, “I don’t think anyone should be intimidated in such a way especially in front of their kids!

“It shouldn’t have happened and I would not like it to happen to anyone else”.
