Over the Moon Party Shop in Pevensey Bay invokes spirit of 1966: Come on England

Local traders, the award winning, Over the Moon Party Shop, in Pevensey Bay, are preparing for a blockbuster World Cup month by saying ‘Come on England’ .

They are preparing to promote a series of trinkets, hats, flags and bunting to cheer the England Team on, until we disappear into ignominous failure by not getting out of our group.

Talking to Bay Life (24 May), owner Hazel Lee told us she wanted to do something creative and interesting that caught the spirit of the spectacular month in a quirky Pevensey Bay way.

Invoking the spirit of 1966 and the sight of Nobby Stiles skipping with joy while he held the World Cup aloft, elated, showing that all his front were out, the idea is to capture something of that spirit.

Whilst Hazel would not tell us if this iconic Pevenesy Bay image of the World Cup 2018 would be an England bowler hat and a pair of fangs, she did say that “what is planned is something interesting and creative” and that supplies would “be in store on Monday June 4″.

The launch of the World Cup is on Thursday June 14. First England game is Tunisia v England kick off 7:00pm, Thursday June 18.

There will be no surprise if we see a giant blown up poster of that famous image of Nobby Stiles at the end of the World Cup Final in 1966.

The Over the Moon shop window display for World Cup 2018 will be seen by all the car drivers as they stack up at the Coast Road traffic lights in Pevensey Bay, with dreams of 1966 in the rear view mirror. Come on England.

Kick off to the competition looks set to take place before that date in Pevensey Bay. Look out for the spirit of 1966 poster that will be advertise the 2018 World Cup  in the Over the Moon Party Shop from 4 June.
