On Friday 3 October 2014, there is an opportunity for residents to get up to speed with the latest progress in the development of Uckfield town centre.
“After many months of careful planning and widespread consultation, we are now ready to take some giant steps towards the revitalisation of the town,” said Councillor Mick Harker, Chairman of the Uckfield Town Centre Regeneration Joint Committee.
“The £25 million revitalisation will mean some significant improvements to the town centre as part of our ambition to create a contemporary market town with the accent on quality. We want to invite the Sussex countryside back in to the town centre by introducing more green spaces, including the creation of a tree lined plaza, and improving the transport infrastructure to make it more friendly for pedestrians, cyclist and public transport.”
The Drop In event on Friday 3 October will run from 3pm until 8pm in the Civic Centre. Families, residents, shoppers and people coming home from work are encouraged to drop in to learn more about the latest developments.
There will be an audio visual display, maps, information boards, and the opportunity to pose questions to the members of the Joint Committee
“It’s your town, we need your help and support to make sure we all share in the benefits of the outstanding revitalisation initiative,” said Councillor Harker. “Please come along an find out more on Friday 3 October”
