A charity fund-raiser organised by the popular ‘Beach Belles’ in Pevensey Bay looks set to add another success to its list of afternoon get-togethers that have captured the interest of villagers.

The event is to take place this coming Monday (16 June) between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, at the Beach Tavern, Sea Road, in Pevensey Bay.

Supported by the local community team at Asda, the afternoon, which comes complete with a buffet, raffle and games, aims to raise awareness about breast cancer.

In the UK, it is estimated that 1 woman in 8 will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Asda, which is in its 18th year of support for Tickled Pink, campaigns for two breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Care and the Breast Cancer Campaign. So far this year the company has helped to raise £505,819. Over the 18 years involved in supporting the campaign, Asda has raised an extraordinary £38 million.

Talking to Bay Life Pamela Atkins, organiser of the event, told us ‘the afternoon is open to everyone, there will be a buffet, games and raffle, and I hope that lots of local people will come along to support us, as they have done previously, because it is a very worthy cause’.

Further information about the event is available from Pamela on 01323 762187.
