Members of Wealden District Council will be paying tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country at Remembrance Sunday events throughout Wealden on 10 November

“It is important to pay our respects and remember the bravery and sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in our name, as well as those who risk their lives for us today. We must ensure that they are never forgotten,” said Councillor Brian Redman, Chairman of Wealden District Council.

“We also support the magnificent efforts being made to help with the care and rehabilitation of soldiers and civilians affected by conflicts across the world.”

The Chairman will be attending the service at the Hailsham War Memorial and laying a wreath.

Council Vice-Chairman Cllr Barby Dashwood-Morris will be attending the Remembrance Service at All Saints Church in Crowborough and laying a wreath and Deputy Leader of the Council Councillor Claire Dowling will be attending the Parade and Remembrance Day Service at the Church of the Holy Cross, Uckfield.

Other District Councillors will be attending Remembrance Day services throughout the District.

The Union Flag will be flown at Wealden District Council’s offices in Hailsham on Monday November 11th and a two minutes silence will be held for staff to pay their respects.
