Celebrate the fresh, seasonal produce available in our communities
Bright decorations, banners and bunting will be on display throughout the District to celebrate the fresh, seasonal produce available in our communities.
Buying locally sourced produce is not only considered beneficial for a healthier lifestyle, it also helps to support smaller Wealden businesses.
Local markets are taking place in Wealden’s towns and villages throughout April and May. Many are running special activities including live music at Waldron Country Market, May Day celebrations at East Dean Village Market and an Easter hat parade/children’s competition at Heathfield Farmers’ Market.
Farmers’ Markets are held at: Uckfield (first Saturday of the month); Hailsham (second Saturday of the month); Heathfield (third Saturday of the month); Crowborough (fourth Saturday of the month).
The Hailsham Street Market also takes place in Vicarage Field every Saturday. Village markets take place at Framfield, Chelwood Gate, East Dean, Forest Row, and Wadhurst. Country markets, specialising in locally-produced baked goods are held at Pevensey Bay and Waldron.
