Happy New Year! Plans are afoot for Wealden Festival 2019 with an exciting programme already taking shape. The Festival will take place over the weekend of 29 & 30 June.—Wealden Literary Festival, 21 January 2019

Adam Nicolson, winner of the 2018 Wainwright Prize, and Raynor Winn, whose wonderful book The Salt Path was one of last year’s publishing highlights, are two of the authors who will be joining us.

Stay tuned for more announcements of the fabulous authors, artists, poets and makers who will be there, and details of how to snap up tickets which are due to go on sale in late April.

Wealden Festival 2019 promises an eclectic programme of talks and events for all ages in celebration of the outdoors, human creativity and the relationship between people and place.

Beautiful Boldshaves Garden near Tenterden

Set in the beautiful Boldshaves Garden near Tenterden in the Weald of Kent and the fields and wild woods that surround the gardens, Wealden Literary Festival brings together renowned authors, poets, artists and makers who look first and foremost to nature, wilderness and the spirit of place for inspiration.

Trains run from London’s Charing Cross, Waterloo East and St. Pancras International to Ashford International which is a 20 minute taxi ride away. Journey time from St. Pancras on the high speed to Ashford International is 40mins. It is approximately an hour from Charing Cross or Waterloo East to Headcorn station (also a 20 minute taxi ride to the festival site).

This year, we will be running a shuttle bus service between the Festival site and both Ashford Station and Tenterden town centre.

The shuttle will depart from Ashford station (outside the domestic terminal) every hour on the hour and will leave the Festival site to return to the station every hour on the half hour. The station is approximately 25 minutes from the Festival site.

The shuttle will depart from Tenterden town centre (outside the town hall) at the following times:
Saturday: 9.45 / 12.00

It will return to Tenterden town centre from the Festival site at the following times:
Saturday: 12.00 / 19.15

The journey time between Tenterden and the Festival site is approximately 15 minutes.
