WEALDEN FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

Returns to Pevensey Castle

The latest information is now published and Wealden Council is feeding us information in the days to go to the event. Stay tuned for all the latest updates and snippets that will help you to set the circle in your diary for the weekend that will be one to remember.

In 2014, when the festival first came to Pevensey Castle, 9,214 people were recorded through the Eastern and Western Gate of the Castle over the weekend. There was praise for the organisation of the event, planning and implementation of the event across the community.

This time round, the weekend is double action packed and you do not want to miss this very special weekend.

Here we are with confirmed events and shows and talks and performances and demos and all the other delights confirmed @29 June 2016

  • Cooking Demos by – Peter Bayless winner of MasterChef 2006
  • Cooking demos by Sussex Mule
  • Wine demos by Bluebell Vineyard
  • Living History drop- Dark Age and Anglo Saxon workshops, including Saxon pewter amulets/rings; Chalk carving Leather work (leather bracelets etc.); Weaving; Jewelled Anglo Saxon brooches; Norman/Saxon flags. In addition, to commemorate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, we will be re-creating the Bayeux Tapestry. All ages welcome.
  • Science workshops from Blast Science
  • Classic Cycle group organising a cycle ride from Cooden to the festival on vintage bicycles and period costume
  • Bikes checks for cyclists provided by East Sussex Council CET
  • Pirates of Pevensey invasion’ Saturday
  • Falconry displays – Sussex Falconry Sunday
