We have been alerted to a possible business rates scam operating in the Wealden area.—Wealden Council, 22 November 2019

A female claiming to be from the Council is alleged to be calling from a mobile number ending 416, and is asking to speak to business owners about discrepancies in their Business Rates bill.

If you receive a call like this from someone claiming to be the Council, end the call & contact us on 01323 443387 to double check the legitimacy of the enquiry. Never give your personal details to someone over the phone unless you are sure of their identity.
