Wealden residents will be able to recycle even more than usual over the Christmas period, as part of the new services being delivered through Wealden District Council’s waste service.
For the first time residents of Wealden will be able to recycle Christmas cards and wrapping paper as part of their regular recycling collections, and this is the first Christmas that Wealden crews will collect glass and plastic food packaging from residents doorsteps.
After the festivities, residents with garden waste bins can cut their Christmas trees into manageable sizes and leave them in or next to their brown bin to be collected by the crews.
Wealden residents are also reminded that any additional recycling can be left next to their recycling bin in boxes or carrier bags (no black sacks).
Collection calendars for 2014 and Christmas collection dates have been sent to all residents of Wealden, and households can also see them by entering a postcode on the top left corner of the Wealden District Council homepage -www.wealden.gov.uk.
If you have not received a calendar yet please call the Contact Centre on 01323 443322 or 01892 653311.
Please note that all collections will continue on the fortnightly schedule over this period. Collections may be delayed by 1 or 2 working days due to the bank holidays, with collections taking place on Saturdays as well. Please see below the revised arrangements for when council offices are closed:
