BUSINESS Vines Flowers: Space to hold craft classes

Organisers of the Pevensey Bay Dog Walking Group are celebrating today (Thursday 20 December) at the success of their Big Barn Christmas, a group booking to a specialist training facility for dogs in Hailsham

The  event organised by the dog walking group sold out. A total of twenty dogs and their owners attended the event with their favourite friends.

The planning of the event was launched with a post to their Facebook page which said, “Hi Everyone I have booked the Big Barn for Tuesday 18th December 2018 at 11am – 1pm. Hope to see you all there with your lovely doggies…, £2.00 per dog payable to me on the day.

“Arrive on time – dogs must be on leads when entering and leaving the barn and we are responsible for clearing up our own dogs poo….When entering say you are with the Pevensey dog walking group
Please show your interest on here so I know roughly how many doggies will be coming.”.

Talking on the group Facebook page one owner commented yesterday “Woo can’t wait till tomorrow!!”

In the light of the success with bookings to the event, organiser Hayley Dawson said, “Morning we are full for our trip to The Big Barn today….. if successful we will be arranging more visits in the new year”.

Hayley has now followed up the success with a post to the Pevensey Bay Journal that said, “please can you advertise the next Big Barn event as some people who attended are not on Facebook but saw online on Bay Life”.

The full post gives more information, “January 13,The Big Barn- January meet”, which on this occasion  is a Sunday. Other information indicates, “save your date in the diary for our next gathering for our doggies to enjoy. It was requested for a weekend meet, so I hope you can all join us, this one is for one hour. £1.00 per doggie please click to join the event if you wish to attend.

The innovative event appears to have brought interest from a number of local dog owners.

The spirit of the season seems to have captured interest with ‘The Big Barn Christmas”. The group is growing fast with new members joining every week, sharing some lovely pictures of their dogs and all kinds of exemplary comments about the organisation of the group.

Talking about her lovely faithful friend, Samantha Griffiths commented, “It’s a yes from nigel Hayley x”

Perhaps we will be seeing sets of Big Barn events in the local calendar next year.

The Pevensey Bay Dog Walking Group has now joined the “Big Society’ in the Bay. The Pevensey Bay Journal publishes member volunteer groups of the “Big Society “in a section of the newspaper that is dedicated to community assets.

Groups include a local theatre venture, a residents association, a new art group and an allotment society. Details about how to see your group featured in the community assets section of the newspaper are available here. info@pevenseybylife.co.uk

The Pevensey Bay Dog Walking Group is also to feature on the new Pevensey Bay Journal eventboard.
