BUSINESS New single release from local Pevensey Bay based musician, Peter Barron

Aquafest this year takes place on Sunday 6 August 2017.—Bay Life, 24 July 2017

August means Aquafest in Pevensey Bay

Now in a third year as an incarnation in Pevensey Bay, Aquafest is an opportunity for families to get together with a blast of good time music that lasts from mid-day to late.

The day is organised now as a regular annual fixture in the Bay.

Aquafest was built from the ashes of Pevfest, the annual event, which at its height for five years, saw 7 venues playing host to up to 30 bands over three days.

Pevfest was a victim of its own success and shut down after security fears and fears over the numbers of people attending the event, as well as an absence of a community and family feel to the event in the evenings.

Enter Aquafest, family orientated, much smaller scale, in a single venue, with a range of good music to suit all tastes, from hard driving rock, to the impish inspired forties/fifties sound of Two Hep Cats, fast becoming candidates to call themselves the house band of the Bay.

Billed this year in what is being described as ‘the annual outside massive live music extravaganza’ the music will be back to back from mid-day until late,

Included in the cream of the local crop of live bands is Grace and Danger, 90% Proof, Dirty Harry, Sunrise City, Back in Time, Gripper Lee 3, Joe and Dave and the magnificent Two Hep Cats.

Aquafest is part of the Aqua Bar ethos, a themed approach to the promotion of the fabulous venue and location that has seen community fund raising for a defibrillator, art exhibitions and private events, together with an ambitious programme of live music that has seen the unique venue move closer to the heart of community life in Pevensey Bay,

Talking to Bay Life, co-owner, Julie Rowe said, “this is our table and our sitting room and I just want everyone who comes here to feel comfortable”.

Proceeds to the charity MIND.
