Olivia Colman took home the Best Actress Golden Globe this month

The Favourite’s Olivia Colman took home the Best Actress Golden Globe this month and is hotly tipped to follow it up with an Oscar. Stan and Ollie joins us after opening the London Film Festival late last year, and is garnering rare reviews for its two stars, Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly. Keira Knightley stars as Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, best known simply as Colette, notorious for her Claudette series, initially published under her husband’s name. And finally, Golden Globe-nominated Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name) takes a star turn in Beautiful Boy.

Special events this month include a one-off screening of Jean Cocteau’s Orphée – a must-see on the big screen. Plus an Ingmar Bergman mini-season to coincide with the release of new documentary, Bergman: A Year in a Life. We will also be screening two of the director’s very best: Wild Strawberries and The Seventh Seal.

Celebrating both LGBT History Month and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, our Queer Film this month is Before Stonewall, a moving documentary exploring the activism which came before the riots which we now consider so fundamental to the development of LGBTQ+ rights in America.
