TOMMY – THE ALBUM – LIVE!
Congress Theatre, Eastbourne
Friday 27 September, 7.30pm

If you weren’t at Woodstock or the Isle of Wight Festivals at the end of the 60s don’t fret, now is your chance to witness the phenomenal rock opera Tommy from The Who! Played live by world-class international band The Goldhawks, Tommy The Album – Live, heads to Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre, 27 September, for one night only.

TOMMY was first released as a double album in1969 by Decca Records and introduced The Who to a new level of superstardom. The album was composed by guitarist Pete Townshend and tells the story of Tommy Walker, a Deaf, Dumb and Blind boy and the trials he faces growing up, before becoming a Pinball Wizard. Featuring hits including The Acid Queen, I’m Free and See Me Feel Me, the album was a huge critical success and including its re-releases has spent an incredible 126 weeks in the Billboard charts! The rock opera has also been transformed into an opera production, an orchestral version, a 1975 film and a 1992 Broadway musical.

This September The Who’s iconic masterpiece is brought to life and recreated for the stage by the fabulous, international eight-piece band, The Goldhawks. Front man Doug Freeman, a renowned performing and recording artist in his own right, faithfully recreates the extraordinary vocal range of Who lead singer Roger Daltrey. With all the emotions, tension and raw power that the music demands, the show features a masterful replication of The Who’s iconic sound, backed with exciting, extra-large screen projection and some archival footage of the band themselves.

Audiences can also expect a fabulous finale, featuring bonus material of some all-time classic hits from The Who – the ultimate way to close the show!

Experience this legendary rock opera in person as The Goldhawks present Tommy The Album Live at the Congress Theatre stage for one-night only, Friday 27 September. Tickets £24 are bookable online at eastbournetheatres.co.uk or call Box Office on 01323 412000.
