CIRCUS SKILLS AND PUPPETRY COMBINE FOR THEATRICAL TREAT

Oddly Moving Presents
HE AIN’T HEAVY
Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 October 2018
Tuesday 7.30pm, Wednesday 2.30pm

A show which is full of love

A show which is full of love, He Ain’t Heavy, is a poignant, moving and intimate look at growing up with an autistic sibling, using circus skills and physical theatre this theatrical treat comes to Eastbourne’s Devonshire Park Theatre from 23 – 24 October.

We meet Grania who’s younger brother Sean is autistic, has severe learning disabilities and epilepsy; drawing from her own experiences of growing up in a family with a sibling who faces challenges every day comes this personal and stunningly honest portrayal.

With a unique take on puppetry and physical theatre aerial circus skills, audience interaction and storytelling this production presents Sean’s unique take on life and how this has shaped and influenced Grania.

This sensitive subject is handled with deep affection and love for a brother who as Grania herself says: “When people ask me about my brother I usually give them the short answer; he has severe learning disabilities, epilepsy and autism. He Ain’t Heavy is the long answer. As Sean cannot go on a national tour due to a love of routine and no concept of theatre, we are going to bring him into the room in other ways.”

Experience He Ain’t Heavy, at the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne on Tuesday 23 October, 7.30pm and Wednesday 24 October, 2.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and £7 tickets for children and students, Wednesday matinee 2.30pm is a relaxed performance with tickets priced at £7. To book call the box office on 01323 412000 or online www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk
