The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show
Friday 14 June, 7.30pm
Congress Theatre, Eastbourne

The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show returns to the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne on Friday 14 June with Marty Wilde MBE headlining along with; Charlie Gracie (who replaces previously announced Eden Kane), Mike Berry and the Wildcats with special guest ‘Little Miss Sixties’ Nancy Ann Lee.

Eden Kane, who was previously announced to be performing on tour, has regretfully stepped away from the show tour due to heart surgery which he is recovering well from. So taking his place is the US superstar Charlie Gracie, an American Rock pioneer.

In 1957, Charlie’s single Butterfly topped the American and British music charts, selling over 3 million copies. His other big sellers include: Fabulous, Ninety-Nine Ways, Wanderin Eyes, I Love You So Much It Hurts and Cool Baby. Incredibly, he was also the first solo American artist to bring Rock ‘n’ Roll to the UK stage and was supported by Dame Shirley Bassey and Petula Clark on his first ever UK shows.

Marty, who last year was awarded an MBE for 60 years in music, celebrates his 80th birthday the ultimate way, by touring with this fan-favourite show singing his beloved hits including, of course, A Teenager in Love! A new greatest hits album propelled Marty back into the charts and introduced him to a new generation of fans.

A pioneer of the era Marty Wilde’s vigour for music and live performance is still as strong as ever. Having been spotted performing at London’s legendary Condor Club in 1957, Marty proved he was Born to Rock ‘n’ Roll with a string of Top 5 hits in the following years as a teenage star, including Donna and Sea of Love .
Also appearing are original icons of 60’s British music: Mike Berry – a long-time collaborator of producer Joe Meek who enjoyed a string of hits in the 60s including Don’t You Think It’s Time, and The Sunshine Of Your Smile – and very special guest, ‘Little Miss Sixties’, Nancy Ann Lee – as well as Marty’s band, The Wildcats.

The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show offers audiences the chance to relive the original Rock ‘n’ Roll stars live; Congress Theatre, Eastbourne 14 June, 7.30pm, tickets priced from £28.50 to book call the box office on 01323 412000 or online eastbournetheatres.co.uk which now gives the option to print-tickets-at-home.
