There are so many wonderful places to visit in Wealden, literally something for everyone. Wealden Do the Best Attractions brings them all together for the many visitors we have to the District as well as for those who live here and might be overlooking a gem on their doorstep—Councillor Roy Galley, Cabinet Member for Economic Development., Wealden District Council, 29 January 2016

Wealden District Council has produced the latest Wealden Do the Best Attractions Guide, highlighting the many tourist sites, benefits, events and days out in Wealden.

“With tourism expenditure supporting over 15% of jobs in Wealden, the attractions guide is another fantastic example of how the Council is supporting local businesses from the sector. The guide is being taken to domestic and overseas exhibitions and is a great way of encouraging people to spend time and money in our wonderful part of the country.”

The new free guide will be distributed to hotels, tourist destinations, libraries, businesses, farm shops and garden centres up to a two hour drive from Wealden. It will also be available from tourist information centres nationally.

Additionally, for those that really want to make the most of the beautiful Sussex countryside, Wealden District Council has produced a new Camping and Caravan sites guide on behalf of Sussex Destinations, a partnership between eight Local Authority Managed Destinations across East and West Sussex.

The pocket sized guide for 2016 covers the many camping and caravan sites across Sussex. If you want to go camping but don’t have your own tent or caravan there’s information on hiring a shepherds hut, yurt or tipi.

Copies of both guides are available from jane.kilby@wealden.gov.uk or you can download electronic versions from the Wealden District Council website:
