HIGH AND LOWLIGHTS FROM THE PEVENSEY BAY WEATHER SALON
7:40am
After the big flashes of thunder and lightning last night, that seemed to go on for some dog frightening hours, a calm start to the day. That was some electrical storm. The sun is out and there is a light pale blue sky with some big wisps of white cloud. No wind feels warm, although the cloud still feels moody. This really is the calm after the storm.
Local resident, Lisa Courtney, commented, “that was quite a show mother nature put on”.
Chris French who lives along Coast Road stayed up to see the show, and took pictures of the scene. He said “Ooooiooh We have an electrical storm”.
Pauline Montgomery who lives in Timberlaine Road said “my goodness that was some storm, the strength of the rain that came down afterwards really did come down hard”. She added. “it really is a long time since we have seen something like that”.
Simon Montgomery, editor of Bay Life sat with his mother, aiming to console her two whippets, who hid through the proceedings, with Louise the whippet shaking and moving from room to room, whilst the intelligent one, Lucy the Weather Girl Whippet, simply hid under his bed.
Simon jokingly commented “at one point I thought I might join her, with a notebook ready to do the weather forecast for the next day, she is the most intelligent dog I have ever met, even if she was fearful, she found a place of safety”.
