Defibulator to be housed on outside of the Aqua Bar on Sea Road side

The provision of the community defibulator is the latest initiative by co-owner, Julie Rowe.

Talking to Bay Life today (28 April),one of the organisers, Stuart Thomson, told us, “the patrons of The Aqua have collected money to provide a community Defibulator”, adding, “this will be housed on the outside of The Aqua on the Sea Road side”.

As this is to be a community resource, he explained, “Julie and I will be arranging teaching sessions on using the defibulator and will be opening these to the whole community.

“The more people who can use the machine will help make our community safer for residents and visitors”.

The Aqua Bar is hoping to have a defibulator unveiling ceremony next week and will inform the community of the proposed date and time for the siting of the defibulator .

The Aqua Bar emphasised that this was important message for the community, a view that is likely to chime with both residents and visitors to the Bay.

The Aqua Bar Ethos with their new theme that “there is something special in the water” seems to have appeal to people utilising the family based bar.

Talking from a table inside the bar, about the next stage plans for the Aqua, Julie told Bay Life, ““this is our table and our sitting room and I just want everyone who comes here to feel comfortable”. Her new theme and message seems to have gone down well with both regulars at the bar and new visitors. .

One regular at the popular bar told us, “first day I came down, not being funny, but we were mixing with everyone”.

Further news about the community defibulator to be housed in Sea Road at the Aqua Bar, will be made available shortly, in readiness for the little housing ceremony next week.
