Project Griffin represents a true partnership approach to the threat of terrorist attacks. The adoption of Griffin will provide the opportunity for those who work within Sussex to get a better understanding of the relevant threats our businesses currently face.
There will be a sharing of terrorism, crime and local intelligence at a greater level and an increased and understanding of possible terrorist behaviour which will heighten the chance of interdiction.
Delegates will be from any business and may include stake-holders/partners who want to benefit from the positive advantages of Project Griffin.
What’s in it for you?
Delegates will listen to police specialists providing up to the minute information on how to maximise their security contribution towards the community they work in.
This will include detailed intelligence on the work of Special Branch, hostile reconnaissance, suicide bombers and what you can do to minimise the impact on your business should the worse happen.
After the event the team shares up to date information with attendees every two weeks via e mail. This encourages vigilance by employees who will feel an increased sense of responsibility by becoming part of a team committed to protecting the safety and security of the environment they work in.
Project Griffin in East Sussex
Two half-day events lasting approximately four hours will be held in East Sussex during the lead up to the 2012 Olympic Games:
Eastbourne – The Borough Council is kindly hosting an event on the morning of Monday 30th April in the Hardwick Suite at the Lawn tennis Centre, Devonshire Park, Eastbourne.
Hastings – The Bannatyne Spa Hotel in Battle Road, Hastings is kindly hosting an event on the morning of Thursday May 3rd in its luxurious new Montgomery Suite.
Both events will commence at 09.30am. Registration, with tea and coffee available from 09.00am.
The day is to be provided free of charge by Sussex Police Counter Terrorist Intelligence Unit (formerly Special Branch). Each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance and a lapel badge.
