Throughout January 2017, Wealden District Council will be running FREE events across the District to encourage residents to switch to Smart Energy meters, saving them money and providing a boost to the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.—Wealden District Council, 19 December 2016

“We’re encouraging our residents to start 2017 on the right foot by coming along to one of these Smart Energy Events,” said Councillor Graham Wells, Cabinet Member for Housing.

“As well as finding out about Smart meters you’ll be able to learn the latest in home energy efficiency, get independent advice from energy bill switching experts and winter resilience tips from Citizens Advice. With events taking place across Wealden there’s sure to be at least one near to you and I really recommend coming along.”

The Smart events are being delivered with grant funding from Smart Energy GB and are being run in Wealden’s rural towns and villages which are not connected to mains gas. Wealden District Council is one of only 18 organisations across the UK to receive a grant to encourage rural communities to adopt Smart Energy meters
