Big shout out today to the local firemen and firewomen that protect us 24/7 with the service that is the pride of Sussex.

The men and women arrive at critical times, making critical decisions within seconds and save lives.

It is through their skills and professionalism that we can go about our daily lives safe in the knowledge that they are there when we need them.

Over one hundred years of proud local public service in the community and long may it continue.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue says; “we provide prevention, protection and response services to 812,514 people within the area of East Sussex, covering an area of 179,000 hectares.

“We run and attend numerous events throughout the year where we take the opportunity to meet with our communities and pass on a wide range of fire and road safety information”.

Pevensey Fire Station Open Day today (Saturday 1 August) runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
