Seal spotted, three occasions within a week, we take it be the same seal. In the vicinity of the flats looking out to sea at the Eastbourne end of the village.—Mary Forster, 30 October 2016

Within a week, there different people have commented on the seal in that territory. Quite close to the beach, not out at sea and a long distance, so easily spotted.

One couple was swimming and the seal appeared to be swimming alongside. It was swimming in the same direction as the couple and when they turned to return home the seal changed direction at the same time, almost saying that it is enjoying human company in the sea.

The couple saw it and said, how you seen the seal?

It is either the fact that it is finding its food in this particular area of the sea and you can not say it is coming for the company of the couple, because the sea is so huge, but is it coincidental that it seems to enjoy human company.
