COMMUNITY New glass reycling contract for Wealden

BUSINESS New single release from local Pevensey Bay based musician, Peter Barron

open-day

Congratulations to the team behind the Pevensey Information Day last Saturday (11 April)

It was a well organised event with up to 30 local community based groups showing their wares, from the Inkspot writing group, through to the Parish Pump and the local branch of the British Legion.

In evidence also was everyone from the people behind Project 16, the campaign to restore St. Nicolas Church in Pevensey through to an appearance by the fire brigade with helpful advice and support about the fitting of fire alarms.

Every stall was accommodated with the stallholders ushered to their space, courtesy of the organisers and split over two sites (The Baptist Church as well as St Wilfrid’s Hall came into use)

There was plenty of space, with an opportunity to talk to the community faithful and compare notes with all kinds of offerings, advice and information.

Great to see the new ‘Incredible Edible’ stall giving away plants, there with regulars like the Pevensey Bay Model Railway Group and Anderida WI.

By 11:30am the morning was buzzing, it was a real opportunity, for people, particularly those who are new to the community, to see the array of creativity and support that characterises work that goes on day in and day out. The day gave local people an opportunity to enjoy everything on offer and to catch up with latest groups and campaigns,

Nice to see the Parish Council, the organisation that put on the event, taking time to visit each stall. Chairman, Maurice Gilbert, made a point of finding out how the morning had gone for everyone.

There are not many local communities of this small scale that can put on an event of this description with such a wide range of interest groups in evidence.

Well done to everyone who organised such a good show, hopefully it will encourage a few more people to join a group and make contact with similar minded folk.
