see amended release, indecent assault now stated as thaving taken place in Eastbourne

Detectives are currently investigating an indecent assault on an 11-year-old boy at Pevensey Bay, near Eastbourne.

It happened at about 6.30pm on Wednesday (22 October) near the Martello Tower off Leyland Road.

The boy was assaulted by a man described as white, about 30, with blond hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley, of Eastbourne CID, said: “Whilst serious, this is an isolated incident and enquiries are continuing.

“Neighbourhood policing teams are carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance to visitors and residents.”
