letters-to-the-editor1

Sir,

I understand that the PTT (Pevensey Town Tust) Trustee that circulated the letter to the residents of Pevensey recently was accused of a conflict of interest at the emergency meeting of the PT Trust last week, and that he has been put on notice that they intend to remove him as a Trustee.

If it was not for the dedication and persistence of this Trustee in bringing the unwarranted & unnecessary intentions of the Trust into the public domain the current Trustees would have pushed the changes to the Trust through without the residents of Pevensey even knowing about it.

At this meeting the latest revisions to the intended CIO (Charity Incorporated Organisation) were tabled and a vote taken to accept them.

As yet these revisions to the CIO have not been made public by the Trust.

This makes the Trust appear even more like a closed society run by some unaccountable people.

As far as can be ascertained the PTT Trustees still want to make a number of changes from the original 1890 Articles in the New CIO broadening the catchment area for election of Trustees and allowing Trust monies to be used for purposes other than what they were intended for in the existing Trust.

I and others believe the intended changes to the Trust and the New CIO should be put on hold, and that all the existing Trustees should stand down. Nominations for the New Trustees sought from the local community and a fresh look to see if the changes to the Trust are really necessary.

A. Lloyd
