Derek’s nomination story

By helping cancer sufferers have some dignity at our local Hospice whilst assisting families in the Community with their loved ones In 2010 my 10th London marathon for the Hospice my personal sponsorship passed £40000.

I motivate others in achieving their goals by writing running newsletters training guides training runs advising on sponsorship. I have raised funds running in New York Dubai and New Zealand; walked on hot coals and beaten Colin Jackson the World record hurdler to the top of the BT Tower via the stairs!

Marathon runs and lecture donations has helped build a Hospice for the local community and maintain important daily running costs to benefit patients and their families bringing some relief to others whose lives have been changed forever. My dream and goal is to make people aware of the importance of the need for a local Hospice in the community.
