The Royal Oak and Castle in Pevensey, recently taken over by new landlady, Hayley Fitton, is to put on a launch party that will be in full keeping with the community spirit of the public house. A performance group will fill the sky with fire and light

The launch event takes place on Saturday 16 November, starting at 6:00pm. The performance group booked is the Smoke and Mirrors Fire Dancers, based in Eastbourne.

The event is to be documented by photojournalist, Steve Malone, whose work can be seen in a number of local news outlets.

Hayley Fitton on taking over the tenancy said (6 October), “thank you to everyone that has helped to get the Royal Oak back open, to everyone who has shared posts, been in for a drink, been patient while we make changes, we can’t wait for more fun and laughter. Everyone is welcome.”

The event which she says “keeping with the Guy Fawkes theme’, as well as Smoke and Mirrors Fire Dancers performing, will see a disco to accompany proceedings, hot dogs, burgers and chilli.

In less than a month since the beginning of the tenancy we have seen a Tuesday evening PIZZA NIGHT introduced that has included, “our Italian Chef hand making pizzas to order” as well as a Friday Burger and Beer Night and the return of traditional Sunday roasts.

Commenting on her decision to book Smoke and Mirrors Fire Dancers for the launch party. the group says on their Facebook page, “we are super excited to be dancing at The Royal Oak & Castle Inn on Saturday 16th November for their launch party! We hope to see you there! “
