Companies looking to locate or expand in Wealden and throughout East Sussex are being invited to a free funding and commercial planning seminar and exhibition on Tuesday, 3 December

The event has been organised jointly by Wealden District Council, the Federation of Small Businesses, EDEAL, the Alliance of Chambers East Sussex (ACES), Locate East Sussex, Oxford Innovation, East Sussex County Council and the Let’s Do Business Group.

“We have organised two events in one so that local entrepreneurs can make the most of their valuable time,” said Councillor Claire Dowling, Deputy Leader of Wealden District Council. “There’s a practical seminar in commercial planning which will help explain the planning process and look at ways for small and medium sized businesses to expand in the District”

After light refreshments, there will be the opportunity to find out more about the funding which is available, and how to access grants and interest-free loans through the Regional Growth Funds – East Sussex Invest and Escalate.

This event is for businesses of all types and sizes and investors, so there will be the opportunity to share ideas, experiences and seek potential backers.

Wealden’s planning service will provide a number of informal surgeries offering advice on planning generally and helping to break down some of the barriers for businesses wanting to grow or locate in East Sussex. Officers from the District’s regeneration team will be on hand to direct businesses to funding experts and potential investors; and help source advice on locations and premises and other businesses that have successfully secured investment funds.

The Business Funding and Commercial Planning Seminar will take place at the De Vere East Sussex National Hotel, Little Horsted, Uckfield on Tuesday 3 December. The event will run from 4pm until 8.30pm.

The Planning Seminar will run from 4.30pm until 6pm, and the Business Funding Seminar will be start at 6.30pm. Admission is free and light refreshments will be available. Delegates will be able to attend either or both of the events.

To book your place: email regeneration@wealden.gov.uk or telephone 01892 602886 by Wednesday 27 November 2013. Remember to say if you wish to attend one or both seminar events.
