AUDIENCES AND CRITICS WOWED
SUPER-SONIC SHOW IS THE PERFECT SUMMER TONIC

RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET
Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne
On Now until 1 September 2018

Audiences have been flocking to the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne to catch this season’s super-sonic-tonic Return to the Forbidden Planet many re-booking to experience the feel-good show all over again.—Eastbourne Theatres, 22 August 2018

The mash up of Shakespeare and sci-fi with a heavy dose of rock and roll is perhaps on paper not everyone’s cup of tea, but the reaction of audiences filing out have been a combination of “Wow what a show” and “I had no idea what to expect, I still don’t know quite what I saw but boy what a show, I am buzzing!”

Younger theatre goers have been enjoying the space ride with “100 out of 10” declared by a mathematically challenged 3 year old Betty.

There’s been standing ovations at every show and audiences coming out of the theatre with a definite spring in their step! Front of House Manager Natalie Pennington said: “We are having a lot of fun with this show, the front of house team have been getting involved too with Space flight attendant costume pieces to wear alongside their normal uniform to get the spirit of things. It’s great, it’s a bit like having a summer pantomime but with a mega guitar solo and a lot more rock ‘n’ roll!”

Return to the Forbidden Planet features an entire cast of actor musicians, many of whom have long-standing associations with the cult show including Associate Director Matt Devitt who starred in the original West End production who was Olivier award nominated for his creation of Cookie, he’s now reached the appropriate playing age for Dr Prospero! Jane Milligan, fresh from the West End’s Kinky Boots returns to the Devonshire Park Theatre, which was her father Spike’s local theatre, Jane’s heritage to the show also extends to previous West End productions.

Return to the Forbidden Planet has enjoyed critical acclaim and with audiences also raving about the production come and find out why by calling the box office on 01323 412000 or online eastbournetheatres.co.uk . Nightly performances Tuesday to Saturday at 7.45pm and Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm, Audio described performances at selected performances.
