Clean for The Queen, the biggest community-led clean up the country has ever seen is coming up this weekend. But there’s still time to get involved and help to make where you live spick and span.—Wealden Council, 29 February 2016
“It’s fantastic to see that Wealden residents are so enthusiastic about Clean for The Queen with a lot groups across the District signed up already,” said Councillor Nick Collinson, Portfolio Holder for Community Leadership. “But there’s still time for more to join in. The Volunteer Clean-up Kits that Wealden is offering have proved incredibly popular – there’s only one left so get in contact quickly to claim it! There are also plenty of special edition Clean for The Queen litter sacks available from the Council offices at Vicarage Lane, Hailsham and from Crowborough Library, Pine Grove. Claim yours by presenting a copy of your email event registration.”
“Wealden District Council will also arrange for our waste contractor, Kier, to collect any bags of litter collected from events, just make sure you let us know in advance where they will be.”
The campaign runs from March 4 to 6 and aims to get everyone cleaning up their communities ahead of The Queen’s 90th birthday in April.
Events taking place across Wealden already include Withyham, Pevensey, Laughton, Cousley Wood, Wadhurst, Alderbrook, Hellingly, Heathfield, Maresfield, Uckfield, Fletching, Chiddingly and Hailsham.
You can find events near you, or register your own event on the Clean for The Queen website – www.cleanforthequeen.co.uk, which also includes a range of additional resources.
