New Arts and crafts group launched 7 January 2019 in Pevensey Bay—ACAP is back

Born out of the successful Art, Crafts & Photographs [ACAP] fundraising exhibitions for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, in 2016 & 2017, the group decided towards the end of last year to organise weekly get-togethers in the New Year.

The idea stemmed from one of the founder members, Anne Bolland, and was enthusiastically supported by other exhibitors.

The launch yesterday (7 January) as described by the organisers as “better than we could have imagined.”.

A total of 16 people attended. Organisesr said, “a warm and welcoming atmosphere soon developed and everyone very quickly started making new friendships.

“There was a large range of activities taking place during the first session including watercolour & acrylic painting, pencil drawing, calligraphy, papercutting, crochet, knitting, felting and beading”.

Organisers stressed that they want to have fun with their art & crafts, whatever the medium, and will be supporting each other as the group develops.

ACAP will meet at St Wilfrid’s Church Hall, Pevensey Bay, on Monday afternoons 1pm to 4pm. New members welcome and enquiries should be directed to Christine on 07817 464020.

Alternatively, organisers suggest “just come along have a chat and find out what we’re all about”.
