A local Macmillan Coffee Morning in aid of nurses has raised a whopping £517.00 for the cause!

The event, which took place this Wednesday (11 September) at the Aqua Club was well supported with cakes for sale and a large tombola raffle.

The coffee morning was organised by Pamela Atkins and the Beach Belles Club.

The club meets on a Monday afternoon between 2:45pm and 4:45pm at The Ethelwood Community Centre in the Bay.

Pamela, talking to Bay Life, said “thank you to all the businesses in the Bay that donated money and vouchers!!!’

Now with over 50 members from Pevensey Bay and the surrounding area, the aim of the club is provide a relaxing and friendly environment where ladies can have fun, make new friends and escape the pressures of daily life.

They have ladies from fifty to eighty and cater for anyone whatever the age or ability as the club motto is “STAY YOUNG AND HAVE FUN”.

Congratulations to all concerned, for what was clearly a great event, and with such a good sum at the end of the proceedings to show for it!!!!!
