‘Local writing group Inkspot invites everyone to their Christmas event held upstairs at the Baptist Church, Pevensey Bay, next Friday 2nd December 2016, 6.30pm, Inkspot , 27 November 2016
Our special guest is Claire Baldry, performance poet.
To find out more about her, visit www.poetrybyclaire.co.uk. Claire, ex head teacher from Bexhill, writes in the style of Pam Ayres, and she’s in constant demand locally for her performances.
She’s kindly agreed to join us, entertaining on a Christmas theme, with proceeds going to Diabetes UK; Claire’s chosen charity.
We will be serving no ordinary mince pies (extra special ones!) mulled wine, home made signature coffee and walnut cake, genuinely home made meringues by Vi Everard, inimitable egg sandwiches courtesy of Jacky Long’s rescue hens, and more irresistible edibles.
Entry is by a suggested donation of £3.00 to Diabetes UK. Claire will be entertaining us for around 40 minutes, after which we’ll tuck in to the goodies.
On a writing theme; the Parish Pump has requested a short story from Inkspot for the Spring edition; deadline Friday 6th January.
It can be on any theme, but no longer than 750 words. Anyone can enter! At our January meeting we will be inviting the Editor of the Pump to choose the story he wishes to publish.
But meanwhile the focus is on our Christmas event to which we cordially invite all; not just Inkspot members or creative writers, but all! For any further details email

What’s it all about?
Inkspot is a writing hub in Pevensey Bay, meeting at different member’s houses in turn. Meetings will be on the first Friday of each month at 6.30pm. It’s a group for all ages and all interests. Founder member Jacky Long said ‘What we hope to uncover is hidden talent, what we hope to inspire is creativity; a sense of accomplishment once an idea is turned into the written word.’ Working with Jacky to ensure Inkspot’s success is Marylyn Palmer, co-founder of New Eastbourne Writers.
