Would it be possible to share this event again on your page? It would be great to get people along from all the threatened libraries. Thanks!—Andrea Newman, Save Ore Library Campaign, 2 December 2017

People from various groups campaigning to save local libraries come together at County Hall, Lewes

On Tuesday December 12, people from the various groups campaigning to save their local libraries will be coming together at County Hall in Lewes to send a message to the Cabinet: Save Our Libraries! Can you come along, or if not, spread the word?

What: A protest to tell the Cabinet of East Sussex County Council to make the right decision and save all the libraries under threat. We hope to get the media along and make it an important story: ESCC plans to close nearly a third of our libraries, plus the mobile library. It’ll leave thousands of people with no access to library facilities, and is a shortsighted and regressive measure.

When: Tuesday 12 December, 9-10am

Where: County Hall, Lewes

What to bring: please bring placards or banners, a book to read for the photo, any suitable props (eg large cardboard books) – the more colourful, the better. It would be great to have placards naming all the threatened libraries. Small children or homeschoolers (plus books) very welcome (we know it’s a school day).
