To the editor

I have contacted Wealden and the police about the speed of cars and motorbikes along Coast Road but apparently there are no plans to investigate this problem. I have had damage to my car while parked outside my property and then months later it was written off by another vehicle, again whilst it was parked. Other neighbours have had their cars damaged and I know of 1 other car written off while parked, so it’s not an accident waiting to happen. It has already happened on several occasions.

This is a residential road with a speed limit of 30mph, unfortunately this is disregarded by many and not seen as a priority to either Wealden or the traffic police

Hopefully you will be able to look into this with more success than myself

Kind regards

Geraldine

Editor note: This letter was received in response to Anthony Nuckhir LETTERS TO EDITOR: Coast Road Pevensey Bay, an accident waiting to happen? We have a long running question here and we must, if possible, in our view, reduce the risk, otherwise we will be seeing an accident that will involve people here of an even more serious nature. We will be taking up the question with East Sussex Highways on Monday 31 July, starting with an official response, and then taking the matter from that point.
