Letters-to-the-Editor

Dear B@y Life,

This may seem a trite churlish, however have you noticed the new or latest leaflet from SGN shows four phases which look the same except to have combined phase three and four and included the Christmas break.  I cannot see any changes to dates etc. unless I have misread it.  What made me smile sardonically was the four phase explanation still refers to five phases in the next paragraph.  As someone at the meeting you reported on said  “if they can’t get this right what chance is there for the works that follow” not verbatim but on those general lines.

Assuming that this must and will go ahead without any significant changes to the diversions, my biggest concern is the traffic in and out of Norman’s Bay, which as you know is not appropriate for this volume and whether or not there will be some traffic controls in that area, particularly where the road is only one vehicle wide and relies on the passing bays.  I hope I am wrong but I envisage some major problems.

Many of us in the area rely on deliveries for our daily needs and having spoken to a Tesco driver today, he was blissfully unaware of impending road closures.  He also said that if drivers cannot access they return their goods to the shop, I hope that this will not be the case, however just one of many concerns.

Yours sincerely
Clive Marriott
