Regular correspondence and pictures from Lynda Leventon [nee Love], daughter of Stan and Muriel Love, landlords of the Bay Hotel 1954—71

To Journal and Karen Hudson, manager Bay Hotel

Susan and Lynda Love,[outside the hotel] ,daughters of Stan and Muriel who were landlords..1954-1974 Jack Capstick of Scotland Yard signing autographs inside, and the Bay Hotel ca rpark before. the flats were built. Thought Karen would like to see these.

Best Wishes from Lynda Leventon. [Nee Love].

Following thanks from the Journal for all the memories and pictures and input and also mention of a coming stage with the research about the history of the Bay Hotel, which involves a local newspaper account of a 35 foot Christmas tree in the car park of the Bay Hotel in either 1954 or 1956 (we are still checking the date)!!, Lynda added,

My pleasure to help with the history of The Bay Hotel…as I have amazing memories of growing up there..
It was a very elegant place to stay..with equally elegant guests…as you may imagine, a special place to live, and actually [don’t laugh], made me feel like a princess..!!!!
I do have memories of the Christmas tree, and I believe it was a Norwegian Fir…the same as Trafalgar Square erect every year..That’s what I remember my father telling me…Also, I sent you photos previously of Father Christmas delivering presents outside the hotel..run by The British Legion..If you like , I can resend some photos..
Any way, pleased to be of help, so let me know if you want some more photos!!
Best Wishes, from, Lynda.
