Following a series of heavy showers, Pevs’ home game against Uckfield Anderida was reduced to a late start 20 over game.

Losing the toss, Pev were understandably asked to bat and lost last weeks run getter, Plum for only 1.

On a drying wicket and wet outfield, runs were hard to come by.

Hornby made batting look remarkably easy as he continued his good form with a boundary laden 23 and Hole (39) and Lewis (20) ensured Pev closed on 125-8.

Uckfield started steadily in reply but were forced onto the back foot by Owens’ superb opening four over’s conceding only 10 runs and could never break away with miserly bowling from all the Pev bowlers supported by some unusually tight fielding.

With Lewis back to his accurate best (4-18) and catches more often than not being clung onto, no batsman really got going and Uckfield closed on 75 all out. Victory for Pev by 50 runs.
