Last minute shopping, banking or celebrating? A door-to-door easy-access mini-bus service is provided on Tuesdays and Wednesdays by Westham & Pevensey Rover and a splendid team of “good neighbour” volunteer drivers.
You don’t run for this bus, it runs for you! Travel passes are accepted, or pay £1.80 fare (90p child) as you board the bus. To be sure of a seat, book the day before, call 0845 606 6951 (also for cancellations or information). The friendly local volunteer who takes your call knows all about the area and the bus service and how to book.
On both Tuesday and Wednesday, Westham & Pevensey Rover gets you to Sharnfold Farm Shop and the Pevensey Bay shopping parade and to local pubs for a drink with no worries about driving home. Tuesdays it goes to Langney Shopping Centre with shops and a bank, Wednesdays its takes in Hailsham, where you can visit HSBC, NatWest, Lloyds or Barclays, and shop at to Tesco’s, Waitrose, the Co-op some of the many shopping opportunities.
From this web site you can download a timetable, or click the link to www.wpltp.co.uk for more information.
WPLTP services do not run on Bank Holidays, so don’t expect the ‘bus-stop to bus-stop’ Service 46 Local Shopper to run on Christmas Day – Saturday December 25, or New Year’s Day – Saturday January 1 2011. Even the splendid Westham & Pevensey Rover will not be running on Tuesday 28 December 2010, but you can book by phone on Tuesday 28, because Westham & Pevensey Rover will be running on Wednesday 29 December as usual.
