Kiss My Disco, the innovative clubbing sessions run by DJs with disabilities, comes to Wealden on Wednesday September 11 with a launch at Crowborough
Kiss My Disco is a partnership between Stay Up Late, and FreshTrack DJs and is open to all. It is an evening of good music, a relaxed atmosphere and a place where everyone is welcome. Crowborough’s Kiss My Disco is taking place at The White Hart in Chapel Green, Crowborough from 7- 11pm.
The Crowborough session follows two earlier events held at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill which attracted over 400 adults. It is an open for all event, created by people with learning disabilities. The Kiss My Discos are supported by the East Sussex Arts Partnership, Wealden and Rother District Councils and East Sussex Short Breaks.
“You often hear that there no night life in rural areas like Wealden,” said Councillor Claire Dowling, Cabinet Member with responsibility for community at Wealden. “Here is something different and innovative, and certainly worth checking out, bringing people together from outside their usual social networks.”
Other Kiss My Disco events taking place this autumn are at The Volunteers, Lewes, on 24 October and at The Brunswick in Hove later in November. Entry to the Kiss My Disco in Crowborough is £4 on the door, support workers free.
Stay up Late is a charity committed to promoting the rights of people with learning disabilities to live the lifestyle of their choosing. Fresh Track runs DJ workshops for people with learning disabilities.
