LETTERS Mint House: Village has a vibrant art scene, but few opportunities to display work

keep me posted

As you may be aware Pevensey Parish Council have taken over the ‘’Urban’’ cuts on behalf East Sussex County (ESCC) and four cuts have been agreed.

ESCC are reducing their number of cuts to two per season but offering a financial contribution to those Parish Councils prepared to organise their own contracts, which Pevensey has done in order to maintain the number of cuts.

Unfortunately, due to the funding provided by ESCC the Parish Council can only afford to cut the ‘Urban grass’ areas four times a year.

The Council have decided to bring the 3rd cut forward to 5th and 6th of August. This will leave one cut remaining for the rest of the season.
The first two ‘urban’ cuts were done on
1st cut – 16th April 2019
2nd Cut – 22nd May 2019

ESCC remain responsible for cutting ‘Rural’ grass verges twice as year. The first cut is schedule between the 7th to 27th August 2019.

The areas that ESCC are responsible to cut are:

Eastbourne Road – From The bus shelter at the top of Timberlaine Road
Wallsend Road – From Haven Garage to Priory Court
Wallsend Road – High Street to Level Crossing (side adjacent Salt Haven)

Lastly ESCC are responsible for spraying the weeds on the kerbs and drains. They did this on Tuesday 16th July 2019.

Pevensey Parish Council will be issuing a frequently asked questions document which provides more information and answers the questions that have already been asked.
