COMMUNITY Pevensey Dog Show: Report to Pevensey Parish Council outlines success of first event

JOBSBOARD Part time staff, Royal Oak and Castle Inn, Pevensey

keep me posted

Loose dogs causing fear on the beach
There have been (again) reports of loose dogs causing fear on the beach especially for young children. In addition one local resident had 5 dogs in his garden at one time and a cat met its end by dint of a vicious dog. We all know that it is the irresponsible minority of dog owners who create this nuisance – and the vast amounts of dog mess on the beach and in Sea Road Car Park as most owners are good at keeping dogs on leads and picking up where necessary. Council is liaising with Wealden District Council’s Streetscene staff to see what solutions can be offered – better signage – increased visits by Enforcement Officers – anything!

We would like to reduce these unpleasant incidents well before the summer increase in visitors so will be concentrating efforts on what is a very difficult problem.
