As we approach the final four weeks in the campaigns on the issue of whether we should stay in the European Union or leave, Bay Life will be posting daily on which way local readers of the platform tell us they intend to vote.—Bay Life, 19 May 2016
Over the last few weeks, until the last few days, both sides have been neck and neck, we are now approaching a representative sample of local feeling with close to 200 people voting in our small straw poll.
Which way will the local poll turn, will the poll demonstrate something about local sentiment, will a gap emerge in voting intentions that we will see when the country takes a huge historic step and votes in the EU Referendum on June 23 which will decide our future relationship with Europe?
Should we stay, or should we go? The poll percentages will appear on our homepage header, detailing as the poll shifts, which way we believe local people intend to vote.
What has been fascinating over the last few days is to see a small but demonstrable gap emerging.
It would appear that local Bay Life readers, as a majority, are beginning to decide that we should stay in the European Union.
Today (19 May), for example, 50.27% of poll says we should stay and 49.73% say we should leave the European Union.
Is the Brexit bubble beginning to burst? The next four weeks may or may not show us what local people intend to do with their votes on EU Referendum Day, 23 June 2016.
