Friends of ESAB Race Night

Horse racing comes to Westham on Saturday 11 May when The Friends of East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB) hold a fund-raising evening in the Village Hall.

The Race Night will give people a chance to have a flutter on a series of filmed races while at the same time helping to raise much-needed funds for the charity which provides vital services to blind and partially sighted people in the county.

It costs in the region of £350,000 a year to run ESAB’s various services and all the money has to be raised directly by the organisation. The Friends contribute a fair chunk of that each year through events such as the Race Night.

Chairman Shirley Price said: “We hope a large number of people will come along on 11 May to enjoy a fun night of horse racing.

“Tickets cost just £10 each including supper, so it’s a relatively cheap night out. And, who knows, you could even end the evening in profit if you managed to pick a winner or two.”

A raffle and a bar will add to the fun of the evening which gets under way at 6.30 for 7pm.

Tickets in advance are available from Shirley Price on 01323 833942 or Peter Dryden on 01323 765915.
