The Haven Players are delighted to present Deadly Nightcap from the pen of master thriller writer Francis Durbridge.
Murder and mystery abound in this ingenious play, with more than its fair share of blind alleys.
Initially the plot seems to follow a familiar pattern, a greedy husband plotting to kill his wife. Jack Radford tries to convince his wife that she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown in order to make it seem like her impending death is a suicide.
His plans are thwarted and he, not his wife, ends up dead. But how and by whom? Even though the investigation led by Cliff Jordan concludes Jack was murdered by a prowler, there are so many possible suspects and motives that truth eludes everyone until the shocking denouement.
The London critics said “a night to remember for any fan of mystery, murder and edge of your seat suspense” and “if you enjoy the very best of thrillers, see Deadly Nightcap, it’s the best.”
Deadly Nightcap will be performed at the Stone Cross Memorial Hall on Friday April 21st and Saturday April 22nd. Evening performances start at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm. Ticket prices are £9 for adults and £7.50 for student/children and concession for over the 65’s. Tickets can be booked online at www.havenplayers.com or from the box office on 01323 767816
