Eastbourne & Pevensey Bay Group of Guide Dogs selected Langney Shopping Centre for their first fundraising event and thanks to the generosity of shoppers, an amazing £367 was raised. —Guide Dogs for the Blind, 18 October 2015

The Eastbourne & Pevensey Bay Group is led by Mrs Marion Williams, with John Beney (Treasurer), Maureen Hoggarth and Karen Pedrick and supported by guide dog owners Jackie Holt and Janet McIveer

Says Mrs Wiliams “I chose to support Guide Dogs as my grandaughter Orla has a sight loss and she has been helped by Guide Dogs who have provided her with a buddy dog, called Elanor.

“It has really made a life changing difference to Orla and we are so grateful for the help and support Guide Dogs has given to Orla and our family.

“I also recently moved to Eastbourne and so when I heard that Guide Dogs wanted to start a new fundraising group, I put myself forward as I wanted to give something back to the charity, Guide Dogs and being a fairly new resident to Eastbourne, it would introduce me to new people.”

Says Kate Hunter, Community Fundraiser at Guide Dogs, “I am so delighted that we have secured the support of some truly super people for our new Eastbourne & Pevensey Bay Group and we are all looking forward to organizing some wonderful events and hope very much that local residents will support”
