Greg Barker, MP for Bexhill and Battle, has joined Prime Minister David Cameron in calling on start-up businesses and entrepreneurs in the Bexhill and Battle Constituency to get involved in this year’s Conservative Party Start-up Hub.
Participants who win will have the opportunity to showcase their work in front of thousands of visitors at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham. Launched last year, the national competition is a chance for 12 new businesses to demonstrate their ideas or designs during the four day conference running from Sunday, October 7th to Wednesday, October 10th.
In order to win a chance to appear at the Start-Up Hub, ideas must be submitted to the Conservative Party before June 30th. Application forms are available from www.conservatives.com/startuphub. The winners will be chosen by a panel of experts, chaired by Damian Collins MP, and including leading business representatives from Fujitsu.
Launching the competition, Prime Minister David Cameron, said:
“2012 is going to be a great year for Britain. With the Olympics and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Britain’s business talent is on display to the world and I want to make 2012 the year we go for it.
“I want to encourage businesses to create and innovate; to invest and grow; to develop and break boundaries. That is why I’m proud that the Conservative Party is once again showcasing the best of British business and innovation at our Conference through the Start-UP Hub, and I encourage start ups and entrepreneurs across the UK to get involved.”
Greg added: “This is a unique opportunity for budding entrepreneurs here in Bexhill and Battle and I would encourage anyone with a brilliant new idea to enter the competition for a chance to show off their work to thousands of delegates, the nation’s media and business leaders from across the country.”
